At first impression you'd think that this is some kind of a training ground for an army corps. But it isn't! It has all of the amenities of an army depot; you know the full range of armoury stacked in the perfect order in the weapons rack which contain a lot of unknown quantity of unknown liquid barrels. A stern soldier standing tall and deadly on each side of the entrance door.
What are the soldiers protecting, isn't clear to me at all. Although having said that, from a distance it looks like they are standing guard and waiting for a heavy load to arrive. The side rigs of the gorage-looking storehouse extend far out, out-reaching to the outer posts of the storeroom. I call it a store-room but this is more than that. I know that from the distance, this whole thing can be so deceiving and I know that to many this might seem too far-fetched, but I could swear on anything that they looked so different to anything. Because of the masks that they carry with them at all times, it is really hard to be able to see their behaviors. But they talk, they walk but walk slowly. But that talk, the language isn't anywhere near as our earthly language is constructed. They make these eerie sounds when they pronounce words and all I can hear is the digital echoes which comes out from their big heads sounding like some electronic robots manufactured in some cheap Chinese factory.
At midnight, every night, this whole place becomes something else. Hovering human-made helicopters which collapse, almost hitting the ground with the weight that they carry with them. I, then sit there and observe the whole situation to see if I am able to have a better view of things but without having some kind of a second body, a support, is extremely hard and I recognise that at the first sight of being there and witnessing the dismantling of humanity right in front of my eyes. I was trying to identify levels of hierarchy amongst this group of strange creatures. But to no avail. I couldn't actually see as clearly as I would like to. I needed to be patient at this stage. I did have plenty of time to wait and see right until the end, probably until I get caught. Well it is a possibility. The human-made helicopter does fascinate me. Also, what fascinates me is the third leg which comes into function with these creatures. This leg only comes to be utilised when they unload stuff from this truck, a white vehicle with three letters emblazoned across its body on the sides of the trailer. These three letters are ABC with the letter C being smaller but much bolder than the rest of the letters.
Only after a couple of hours since I have been observing them attentively, did I realise that there are more of them coming out of the depot. This time round the depot is much bigger then it initially looked. I decided to be braver and move in closer, and a little bit closer until I get too close for my own good. Near the cabin at the top of roof it says "Security Control", I can actually smell the dish of the night that the guard is munching on.I leaned against it and trying my best not to be heard and caught, I peered over the space between the blinds. I could see the guard eating from his tin, a bowl of soup and everything seems very normal. But, I feel it though that not everything is normal. I am wondering whether this person, the guard if he is human after all or is it some kind of you know, their kind. Whatever kind that is. This makes me nervous because I don't know if I need to panic or refocus away from my orgies and curiosity which is getting me closer to the unknown. It strikes me that the guard is sitting there as normal as any human would be and that he hasn't an idea that I am just behind that little tin-made shed and that if I have enough confidence, I could just go inside and cause absolute havoc.I didn't have any choice but to usurp my own inner feelings and plough on waiting for the worst to happen but with the intention to see if anything changes in the meantime.
Its been a few hours now since I decided to be patient and wait longer than my good nature would allow me. You probably wouldn't expect me to say this but I can lose patience fairly quickly when cornered. Nobody has cornered me rendering me noble to utilise my inner strength to challenge matters. Instantly, just at the time when I realised that I could do more to unravel stuff in front of me, I notice that things are moving forward. Most of them, the non-humans shall I call them-have began walking on the intersection between the cabin where security guard was staying and the long-winding corridor which leads to the outer posts of the store. There was nothing there to suggest that there was any kind of danger to me or to anybody else for that matter. The only fear I had was that I needed to make myself disappear in a whiff because that was the initial plan. But, I wanted to see more. I needed to see more. I couldn't do without it.
So, I saw this huge tractor type vehicle which was indispensably moving backwards and forwards without any purpose whatsoever. I needed to see more now. The tractor had stopped after two wooshy go's and out of it I see a number of people emerging. They had blue uniforms with yellow neckties and huge phosphorescent badges on their chest-pin. I pulled my android and immediately zoomed in to see what the badges were all about. There were eight inspectors, two scientists and a huge body with a purple badge showing "Expedition Leader".
Expedition"??! Fuck knows what was that all about. I did manage to see into the inside of the tractor. After I zoomed on it, something or somebody tapped in my right-shoulder. I just couldn't work out who it was as I immediately turned - but the interested party were keen to find out what I was doing in the vicinity. What'd I say!? I mean I had so much to do but not wanted to get caught and I did. 'I am a photographer with the wildlife magazine in London' I responded. They. When I say they I mean it was four of them hanging from the top of the ceiling half-man half-some kind of lizardy-physique. Or it could be an outfit. An outstanding outfit if it was something like that. 'You need to follow us I am afraid you are not supposed to be here.' Soon after that I got picked-up by a tripod which was leaping from the top of the ceiling, struggling to find me or identify me. I do not give in but I am prone to all sorts of shitty moments and it only takes for a lapse in my judgement and I will falter, I will fall and I will begin to look at things weirdly, or look in a weird way at people.
'You have high levels of radioactivity in you' The thingy tripod tells me to my face. 'I know'. I said abruptly. 'I think that is partly due to you being dipped in radioactivity which you know full well this whole place is swimming with. Then I guess you couldn't have not known.' I got the sceptical look but aggressive tone. I think it tried to scare me but unsuccessfully so. I stood there as ignorant as I could be and as stale as I could be proving to them that I was detained and that I am not going to move an inch.' Ok, you need to come with us!' the sergeant says. "Going to where...' I hit back quickly. As soon as I said that, a big blanket, a smelly sheet was put on me and I was whisked away for a stroll. I couldn't see anything apart from my feet occasionally stepping into a long staircase which took so long to get to the top, I had to ask for a small break just to catch up with my breath.
As we were climbing up, the escorts were very determined to literally drag me, forcefully, sometimes embracing me and pushing me around, pressing my biceps hard enough that it hurt a lot. I think they were very keen to demonstrate to me that they had the power and that they can wield it whichever way they choose to. I was aware of that all the way to the top. Then we reach the top and I was pushed on to this hall which was all lighten-up. They pulled my blanket off and now I could see better. There right in the middle of the all lit-up hall, there was this aircraft which was as big as a dream-liner, as big and magnificent and otherworldly as a UFO and with people coming out of it and unloading stuff. 'This is it. As you can see, we're here to stay and we're here to show you how living is done!' He said to me looking at the other lieutenants who were manhandling me, or maybe my soul.
